Overhead Crane Motor Shaft Brake

Armature plate motor brake coil is powered by electromagnetic attraction, and when the power is off, the spring is pressed to realize friction braking. It is mainly matched with Y series motors, forms YEJ series electromagnetic brake three-phase asynchronous motors. Usage condition

Motor electromagnetic brake coil can work reliably under the following conditions.
1. The altitude does not exceed 2000m. The relative humidity of the air does not exceed 85%;
2. In the surrounding medium, there is no gas and dust enough to corrode metal and damage insulation;
3. The working environment temperature is -5~+40ºC, and there must be no oil on the surface of the friction plate;
4. The insulation grade is H grade, the protection grade is IP23, and the voltage fluctuation range does not exceed +5%~ and -15%;
5. The working air gap shall not exceed the maximum working air gap;
6. Installation method: axial horizontal installation, axial vertical installation
7. Working mode: intermittent work, continuous work.
Production structure and working principle
      Motor electromagnetic brake coil consists of a yoke body, an excitation coil, a spring, a brake disc, an armature, a spline sleeve, and a manual release device.

       Motor electromagnetic brake coil is Installed on the rear end cover of the motor (or on the flange of the equipment), adjust the mounting screw to make the air gap to the specified value; the spline sleeve is fixed on the shaft, and the brake disc can slide axially on the spline sleeve, when braking can produce a braking torque.
       When the coil of the brake is energized, the coil generates a magnetic field, and the armature is magnetically attracted to the yoke, and the armature is disengaged from the brake disc. 

        At this time, the brake disc is driven by the motor shaft to rotate normally; when the coil is powered off, the magnetic field disappears, and the armature Pushed to the brake disc by the force of the spring, friction torque is generated to brake.
        The armature can also be released by pulling the "manual release device" or tightening the "screw release device", which is convenient for installation and adjustment of the equipment.
Installation and Air Gap Adjustment
1. Loosen the hollow bolt: screw the hollow bolt into the yoke body,
2. Install the mounting screws and use a feeler gauge to ensure that the working air gap reaches the specified value.
3. Unscrew the hollow bolt and lock it to the rear end cover or flange of the motor.
4. The wear of the working air gap exceeds the maximum working air gap, and it is necessary to adjust the working air gap to the specified value with a feeler gauge again.
5. The working air gap of 04 to 30 is 0.3-0.4 mm, and the maximum working air gap is 0.8 mm.
6. The working air gap of 40 to 150 is 0.5-0.6 mm, and the maximum working air gap is 1 mm.
7. The working air gap of 200 to 450 is 0.75-0.85 mm, and the maximum working air gap is 1.2 mm.
8. The working air gap of 600 to 2000 is 0.85-0.95 mm, and the maximum working air gap is 1.8 mm.
